Lime Plaster

Lime plaster is made from slaked lime (calcium hydroxide) mixed with aggregates such as sand, marble dust, or natural fibers. It has been used as a building material for over 7,000 years — from ancient Egypt to the Renaissance palaces of Italy.

Unlike modern gypsum plaster or paint, lime plaster is a living material. It cures through a process called carbonation — absorbing CO₂ from the air and slowly converting back to calcium carbonate (limestone). This process continues for years after application, making lime plaster stronger over time.

Our lime plaster is sourced from the finest European producers, using the same traditional formulations that have been used for centuries. We apply it using traditional hand techniques, creating surfaces of extraordinary beauty and durability.
